What a wonderful evening it was spent with Erick and Megan. We met at Ironworks Hotel where they are getting married in October 2019. It was such a perfect spot. The river is right there, a beautiful bridge and of course the sun was setting right by us. It was one of my favorite engagement sessions thus far. We talked about who is best and worst cook, they practiced their first dance and we chased balloons around because the wind was not our friend. Oh and lets not forget popping the champagne.
I love engagement sessions because it gives us the opportunity to get to know each other. I mean if you think about it, who did you spend the most time with on your wedding day? Your photographer, right?! An engagement session is basically a practice session so you feel comfortable in front of the camera and with ME. PLUS, you get the chance to get some awesome photos with your FIANCE! Honestly, have you ever taken a photo together other than a selfie? Most couples haven’t had professional photos done since senior year. My couples are always so nervous and believe me I KNOW! Yes it is going to feel awkward but thats why we do silly things, play corny games or have odd conversations. I even pull out my phone and play some tunes while we shoot. We spend about 1.5 to 2 hours together and just chat, laugh and have fun.
The ABSOLUTE best feeling for me is coming home to 800+ images that I just took and start editing. I always become obsessed with your gallery. Now that I have gotten the chance to get to know you during your session, I am able to edit your photos with more emotion and share those raw moments. The moment where he made her laugh because he whispered her favorite dessert in her ear in a sexy voice or the moment I capture a small tear fall from her face because he told her the reason he fell in love with her. Those are the moments I live for.
