Did you guys know I love senior sessions as much as I love couples? It’s crazy how far senior photography has come in the last few years. I graduated 11 years ago and can’t believe the difference in photos then and now. The one thing I enjoy most about seniors is the creativity that you can play with. There are so many location options or themes for sessions. If you are a senior I am all for creating images that respresent you and who you are or what you are in to. Let’s have fun and create some magic. Stay tuned for smoke bombs at my next senior session.

Kayla & Stephen-The Barn at Pioneer Acres, Richfield, WI-July 27, 2019

July was a hot one here in Wisconsin but that didn't stop Kayla and Stephen from enjoying their beautiful day at The Barn at Pioneer Acres. It was a gorgeous day from morning to evening. And if you can’t tell while looking through their images, WE LOVED THE GOLDEN HOUR!

It’s crazy to think at their engagement session it was raining, cold and hailing. Then when it came to their Wedding we had a gorgeous (hot) summer day! Where did the time go? I just couldn’t believe how fast their engagement went.

Sunset with Robin & Henry

Where do I begin?! Robin and Henry are the absolute best couple to work with. Their laughter and love for each other make a session with them so easy. Before this session we met up for a glass of wine and talked about their upcoming wedding. I firmly believe that each couple should do an engagement session. There are a few reasons why you should do a session before your wedding.

1. It gives you the opportunity to get to know me. You start to feel a little more comfortable with me and in front of the camera. I never want you to feel awkward on your wedding day kissing and touching in front of a stranger.

2. It is probably the first time you and your partner have ever had your photos taken together. Sure you did senior photos or maybe had family photos but selfies don’t count. So doing a session together will help you relax a little more with each other. The energy from one another will help each other feel at ease. Plus we like to have fun so theres lots of laughing involved.

3. Lots of images to show off and share with family and friends before your big day. You can use them for save the dates, wedding websites, social media post etc… Wallpaper your house if you want!

4. Finally, it is the first time it really feels REAL! Sure you got engaged, shared the news with friends and family but this is the first moment you can really let it sink it. YOU’RE ENGAGED!!

I do my best to work with my couples to make their wedding experience relaxed and fun. I am so excited to celebrate with Robin and Henry in S-e-p-t-e-m-b-e-r.

Megan & Erick's Engagement Session-Ironworks Hotel-Beloit, WI-July 7, 2019

What a wonderful evening it was spent with Erick and Megan. We met at Ironworks Hotel where they are getting married in October 2019. It was such a perfect spot. The river is right there, a beautiful bridge and of course the sun was setting right by us. It was one of my favorite engagement sessions thus far. We talked about who is best and worst cook, they practiced their first dance and we chased balloons around because the wind was not our friend. Oh and lets not forget popping the champagne.

I love engagement sessions because it gives us the opportunity to get to know each other. I mean if you think about it, who did you spend the most time with on your wedding day? Your photographer, right?! An engagement session is basically a practice session so you feel comfortable in front of the camera and with ME. PLUS, you get the chance to get some awesome photos with your FIANCE! Honestly, have you ever taken a photo together other than a selfie? Most couples haven’t had professional photos done since senior year. My couples are always so nervous and believe me I KNOW! Yes it is going to feel awkward but thats why we do silly things, play corny games or have odd conversations. I even pull out my phone and play some tunes while we shoot. We spend about 1.5 to 2 hours together and just chat, laugh and have fun.

The ABSOLUTE best feeling for me is coming home to 800+ images that I just took and start editing. I always become obsessed with your gallery. Now that I have gotten the chance to get to know you during your session, I am able to edit your photos with more emotion and share those raw moments. The moment where he made her laugh because he whispered her favorite dessert in her ear in a sexy voice or the moment I capture a small tear fall from her face because he told her the reason he fell in love with her. Those are the moments I live for.

Meredith & Reed- South Second Milwaukee, WI

Going into wedding season I am always so excited to spend time with so many couples. As they plan their wedding day, the photographer is one of the first vendors they book. I remember the day Meredith and Reed reached out to me. It was around Thanksgiving in 2018 and they were looking for a photographer for their May 2019 wedding. Luckily, I was still available for their spring date. They were quick to book and the next step was their engagement session. Meredith said Reed likes cars so they wanted to first do some photos in his garage with one of his cars. If you know me I am always down for whatever the couple wants to do. I was pretty excited to do something different. I showed up and they had matching JUMPSUITS! Like how awesome? I already knew I liked this couple.

So fast forward to their wedding. They were the most chill couple I have ever worked with. They are down to earth people who are so in love. So many moments they would look at each other like there is no one else is the room. We got to spend lots of time before the ceremony taking photos at multiple locations. We started at the Hilton Hotel getting ready and they did their first look in the courtyard. We then headed to the Botanical Gardens to celebrate with their bridal party and have fun with the group shots. Lastly, we went down to the Third Ward next to the Public Market and finished take photos on the Riverwalk. They were up for anything. Their ceremony and reception were held at South Second in Milwaukee, WI. It was a perfect venue choice. It was that ideal downtown urban venue with a lot character. As the day went on everything couldn’t have been more perfect. I loved hearing the stories of how they meet through a mutual friend/cousin or hearing how Reed was going to propose. We ended the evening with Meredith and Reed celebrating with an Old fashion.

Wedding season

Guys, it’s almost wedding season for us!! We are so thrilled to be a part of so many couples special day. This year I love weddings just a little bit more than last year. The first reason is because I finally got to live out my fairytale last year. I never really knew what a wedding day felt like until I was the one in the brides shoes. The wedding day goes by so fast it’s like a major blur, you have no idea what’s going on, you’re so in love, you’re so happy and you’re so relaxed on your wedding day. The best part about your wedding day is seen this vision come to life seen all this hard work that you’ve dreamed of on Pinterest and watching other people get married and going to the floral shop and picking up bridesmaids dresses to decide on the menu and it was just so magical to see everything come together exactly how you envisioned. The second reason I am so excited for wedding season this year is because I have some amazing couples here in WI, Ohio and Oregon. These couples are not just any ordinary couple, these couples have greats vision, amazing personalities and are the main reason I LOVE WHAT I DO! One thing I really pride myself on is really building a relationship with my couples and letting them know I’m here if they need anything whether they want to meet for coffee or chat on the phone or talk about little details because I don’t want you to feel stressed I don’t want there to be ever an ounce of stress on your wedding day. I want you to just let everything go and relax and that’s what I’m here for I really want your day to run so smooth and if there’s any hiccups you won’t know about it .

The couple you see below is Meredith and Reed they are at our first wedding of 2019 it will be hosted at South Second in Milwaukee. I’m just so thrilled it’s gonna be an awesome venue with a beautiful day in downtown Milwaukee. And they sound like the bridal party’s gonna be a great time and of course I will share a new blog post in a couple weeks. I can’t wait to share some other sneak peek so stay tune for some Instagram feed and some Facebook over shares

Michelle & Ben-July 21, 2018-Dayton, OH

Happy Wednesday friends!

In July I had the opportunity to capture Michelle and Ben’s special day. It was absolutely perfect. We started at the beautiful Marriott at UD then headed to the amazing Carillon Park, ventured over to the Ceremony at the Memorial Hall in downtown and lastly we ended our night at the reception at the Marriott. The forecast called for rain most of the day but we were able to miss the random down pours. Michelle and Ben were a great couple to work with. They planned such a beautiful day. From the florals and bridal party attire to the reception and centerpieces, every little detail was perfect. Take a look through some of my favorites from their day! I cant wait to send them their gallery!

Hendricks Summer Photos

Hello!  Meet the Hendricks family. I had the honor of doing photos for them last fall as well. I love meeting new clients and then getting to know them more and more over the years. They have two adorable kiddos. Kiddos are one of the reasons I love my job. They make me laugh, the parents laugh and themselves laugh.  I usually try and let the kids be involved too. I always ask what kind of ideas they have or if they see a cool spot? I mostly do this to keep them involved and not bored. Cause lets face it kids get bored with photos. Even though summer is in full swing now that it is August I am really counting down the days till its fall. I just love fall photos and I have so many families and couples to photograph this year. If you are interested in a session with me either in OH or Wisconsin let me know I could possibly squeeze you in! Enjoy the silly moments. This family did!
